Tim Barber

Timothy (Tim) Barber has worked at every level of the moving industry. Tim began as a helper, working in the warehouse and on the truck.  He has progressed through the ranks to become a General Manager and part owner of a moving and storage company.  His vast experience and personal connection with all aspects of the moving business have created his passion for excellence.

 Tim’s moving career began when he was in college at Olivet Nazarene University.  All of his summers were spent on a moving van as a helper until he transitioned into a driver position.  After becoming a van operator for Atlas Van Lines, his hard work paid off as he was selected as the Van Line Driver/Operator of the Year in 1997 by the American Moving and Storage Association.

In 2002 he was contacted by DMS Moving Systems, an Atlas agent, to have part ownership to take over the management of their office in Birmingham.   His perseverance paid off, as he took on the role of general manager and owner.  In seven years he grew the business to over five million in annual revenue.

Over the past 30 years, Tim has also owned and operated several other successful businesses. Tim has been with the Atlas Family since the 80’s with a few detours in between, all within the moving industry.  Tim’s high sense of self-discipline and organization skills has greatly benefited every organization.

In September of 2010, Tim Barber joined the EDC family leaving his long time home in Vero Beach, Florida.  He spent twenty years in South Alabama where he started his family. Tim and his wife Holly have settled in their new home in Houston.

Because of his hard work and entrepreneurship, Tim will be an asset to EDC.  Although he loved his home in Florida, Tim has become very fond of Texas and its pride already.
